Their "day off" was quite nice. They woke up at 7, left Kai with Ripple's parents, and went to go get everything sorted with the new house. They brought all of their boxes over by wagon, and leisurely talked to each other while they traveled and unloaded all the boxes. It didn't take too long before they were all done, and by 11:30 it was time to go get lunch. They walked to a nearby cafe- one that was small and new, as everything else was in that town- and had sandwiches. It took a while, but Ripple eventually started showing her happy side again. Last night while they were talking, she said she couldn't even remember the last time she did something fun. Now today they spend plenty of time together, laughing and bonding, feeding chicuus near the pond and taking a walk. Usually they'd have Kai with them, but since they didn't have to watch a two year old, they could spend more time together. Really paying attention to each other. That's what they needed.

By dinner, they had already stopped back by her mom's house to make sure she was still okay watching Kai for the rest of the evening. She made it clear she could any time for as long as she needed. So they went back out to dinner... for more of a date vibe. He Was trying to become Kai's stepdad, after all.

To end the day, Riggie and Ripple went and picked up Kai, and took him to their new home. Their fondness for him was both equally as parent-like, even though Riggie wasn't Kai's real father. He was there when the seed was laid and has been ever since. They showed the excited but nervous little boy around, then together, put him to bed in his new room. Then Riggie and Ripple went to go put sheets on their bed and curl up for the night. They were used to sharing a bed, even a year before dating. Living conditions weren't ideal back then. But now, it was a little bit different. Riggie was excited to finally be able to hold her. And he was excited about being excited. While she was putting on her pajamas, he sprawled out over the bed and spread his arms out wide with a big smile. It took her a second to see him, but when she did she wasn't exactly sure how to react. It made her happy, but also awkward. So she awkwardly crawled into his arms on top of him. She looked at him very nervously... the mood was changing. Now he was soft and gentle. He set his head towards her kind of slowly, so she went to kiss him...
