Description
My conscience has been beating me up way too much about this magic crap. I was just gonna make her learn it then them almost get killed while Eaton was learning water or something, but apparently I can't even get through THAT. Anyways, I'm highly against magic irl, so why would I do it online. Ugh. (The biggest problem I have is that magic is my weakness lol. I'm against it, but it calls me. And I'm trying to hate it, but it's hard.)Oh well it wasn't all for nothing! Naki's getting tail feather tip and a scar >:] Story time!
~~~
Naki was getting impatient with her training. Eaton had helped her with so much already- learning to use wind, hearing from long distances, increasing her jump range... but it was all taking too long. If she had just signed up for that stupid magic class while it was still open, she wouldn't have to be taking advice from a dumb 14-year-old. Serves me right, she thought, shuffling around through the grass on a cliff edge, as usual. She had always evaded school as a child, ditching lessons with lame excuses or just running from Ms. Alma screaming "FREEDOM." Why she was like that she had no idea, and even though she thought she was over it, she could still see procrastination written all over her soul. That's why Eaton made a perfect study partner; he could actually get things done. "Just leave everything up to him." How redundant. She almost smiled at her un-matched but fancy-sounding vocabulary. Tossing air spurts here and there, she looked around and tried to think of ways to speed her training up. She already knew how to shoot tiny bits of air out of her hands, and maybe she'd be able to catch herself from the next cliff Eaton threw her off. It wasn't as easy as she thought it would be, though maybe "fast" would be a better word. How could she get her training done NOW?
Perhaps she could try to hear someone talking from down in the town. But it was too far away, and she didn't really feel like it. Get it together, she thought. Maybe she could try that manipulating sound thing Eaton was telling her about. But, listening to her surroundings, there wasn't really any Sound to Manipulate. She gazed down the hill. The side she came up was very dense, covered in trees leaning over each other. It had soft, green grass with pretty flowers, and the light sparkled nicely in specs on the earthen floor. "Why would I try to ruin THAT?" she mumbled to herself, thinking about testing the strength of her wind gusts. The opposite side of the hill wasn't nearly as pretty though, and she considered it. Still, rethinking her options, there was one thing she still had yet to perfect. Remembering the last time she tried to combine wind gusts with speedy movement, she could still feel the pain of belly-slamming right on the water. It felt like concrete. Now's either the time to fail miserably or prove I can actually do it... she grinned. Guess it's worth a shot.
With that, she threw herself over the steep edge, dirt flying up everywhere around her. It wasn't until she was about a quarter of the way down that she realized the entire backside of the hill was covered in briers and assassins ivy, and she was headed right for it. Panicked, she tried to shove as much air as she could downwards to bring her to a stop. The problem with that was, with all the air rushing towards her, she'd have to give back twice as much force to even START slowing down. Rolling up clouds of dirt behind her, she fell right in, covering herself in small scrapes just barely deep enough to bleed. Now rolling, she was practically eaten alive by the vicious plants entangling her. It nipped her ear, and almost got to her wing, but at least when she finally found herself on the shard-carpeted ground, slamming her head on what might have been a rock, she noticed her tail feathers had finally come in. Lol. Hearing shouts coming from around her, she dizzily tried to make out each voice's owner. They were... screaming her name? What just happened? Where... where am I?
You don’t like magic irl? But magic isn’t real irl
Yeah, biblical thing... Religion... you gets it...
Like witchcraft and all that
And I know wyngro isn't witchcraft and it can be justified and all but I'd rather not risk it
Risk what? Lol sorry I’m not sure I’m on the same page here. Since it’s just drawing . And since real magic doesn’t exist
Its ok lol
Deuteronomy 18:10 says “There should not be found in you... anyone practicing magic,... a sorcerer” and even though magic isn’t real, if you call on it it, you’re attempting to go against God by trying to change what he’s put in place or made
and while just drawing or writing about it isn’t technically doing anything, like I said magic is my weakness (im way too gascinated with the elements and bending and everything that goes with it) and it’d just be putting my mind in the wrong place
