USS Enterprise (CV-6) was a United States Navy aircraft carrier in the era of the Second World War. He is the seventh ship to use the name Enterprise. As a member of the Yorktown Class, Enterprise was launched in 1936 and was one of only three American aircraft carriers that were commissioned before World War II and survived the war (the others being Saratoga and Ranger). He is known to have participated in major wars against Japan compared to other US ships.
