Note: I did not draw this. It was drawn by Mamoru Nagano. I just scanned it from a Japanese artbook, tweaked it just a bit in Photoshop, and colored it.What we have here is a rough design by Mamoru Nagano for the Nightingale, an MS which didn't make it into the Gundam movie Char's Counterattack. I made up the serial number and name -- its original name was "Psycozaurus" (or "Psychosaurus" if you prefer). At left you can see the head height of the rival Gundam unit, so this machine is clearly supposed to be a little bit taller than your average-for-the-time MS.
Obviously, I don't own Gundam. All rights belong to Bandai and Sunrise and Yoshiyuki Tomino and "Hajime Yadate," etc. No infringement intended nor implied, etc etc.

I totally agree. It's easy to see his early MH stylings creeping into this one. And god only knows what he'd do with a Gundam show now! I'd love to see it.

I do admit that "Psycozaurus" is a cool name for a mecha suit. Something about the Dom's big shoulders and wide leg pieces really seems to have struck a chord in the ZZ-era designs at times.

I agree, but I'd already gone with Psyco-Dorla, so I didn't wanna overdo the Psycommu naming thing. I also decided to ignore the fact that "zaurus" is how the Japanese write "saurus" (as in dinosaurs).

The sa-to-za change is part of Japanese grammar, so we'll just work around it and say it sounds cool.

Right on man. Meanwhile, I have some other rough designs scanned in and colored and others I still haven't played with. I'll post more. But I tell ya man, some of Nagano's ZZ concepts were WACKY.
