I always found it awkward how whenever Ed bleeds, it doesn't stain his clothes. Instead, it looks more like the blood is just sitting on top of his clothes... They do the same thing in Brotherhood and its so weird...

Well, he wears mostly black, and it's hard to show that black has absorbed anything because, well, it's already black. And if they had made the fabric look darker from the blood, it would be nigh impossible to see the puncture wound, and for me that was what made that image all the more haunting.

Well yeah, but I wear a black jacket all the time and one time I had accidentally cut my arm. Blood actually lightens the color of black slightly to almost a dark purple... It's weird.

Well yeah, but most people probably don't know that. So if you didn't know that happens, it would look like Ed's bleeding purple for some reason. I think it's either to make it easier to see on the black or because it's just easier to get the point across quickly how much blood there is.

I suppose that makes sense. It's more of a concept of trying to make the mass audience understand the shear depth of it all than it is the actually reality of it.

Right :3 Showing the blood "on top" of them kind of reminds the audience that they're still covered in blood for whatever reason. It's never really bothered me before, but I can see where you're coming from on it xD
