Ants are magical creatures. Dali knew it, M. C. Escher knew it.

most of my 'recent' works have been done on blocks of wood - 2"x2".
but -
the older drawings (like this one) i draw small, then take to the local 'copy store' and get them blown up BIG and color them in.
what's a4?

Aha, so the other one was actually mirrored. Interesting seeing the rest of the image. Personally I prefer the b&w one, but I also colour my own stuff (digitally though). From a digitalisation point of view some parts are out of focus, a scanner is probably best but not everyone has a scanner. I do photography as well and it can be tricky. I've given up downward photography as the lens slides due to the gravity, so I use a tripod and align as good as I can the camera and the drawing, while at the same time I try to get the drawing at a 90 degree angle. If you are worried about cropping you could zoom out and crop using a photo manipulation tool (though that also means less dpi). Doh, I want a new scanner

everything i do is manual (scissors, glue, paint, etc.), i don't understand cropping, switching colors, photomanipulation etc., SOMEday i'm sure i will learn, but i like my simple scanner and going to the copy shop for my 'enlargements'. it was pretty huge for me to figure out all of this deviantART stuff -- the only thing i needed help figuring out was how to do my icon -- that is how little i know of art and my computer!
thank you for your comments and scrutiny. it's nice to know that someone is REALLY looking and enjoying. you should friend me.

Well if you've come all the way here you've come pretty far I'd say. Manipulation or switching colours is not something you need to do, and cropping you already do by hand The cropping part is generally just to cut off parts of the sides of an image, nothing more. Anyway if you need help with anything then just let me know

The crazy thing is that this is only HALF of the original! My photography skills aren't that great, so I have to use my scanner for all of the deviations I submit. Gosh, thank you SO much!
