Story Summary:
Beleriand was once the greatest work of the Eldar - their first settlement beyond their own system - before contact was lost and its location forgotten. Of late, it has been rediscovered, the crew of the starship Eletaumbë have been contracted to investigate. Unfortunately, they have not been in orbit long when the problems begin...
Alternatively: in which ex-military pilot Maedhros and aspiring archaeologist Fingon manage to crash their shuttle, backpack through a forest, and explore some ruins.

have I? of course I have!!! And it's funny that you mentions this just now cause I missed good hours of sleep last week because I was reading it!!
Yep, I found the link in a tumblr post and clicked on it...and I kept reading until I finished chapter 9!! really enjoyable experience (and I want to draw somethign about it, but I'm also struggling a it trying to imagine how a 30ish human Maedhros is supposed to look like… and isnt' Caranthir suppoed to be short haired? I don't think I can draw that!!! 
and I'm always checking discordiasamba's updates!1 (ok. I have like 2 chapters missing from one story or the other, but overall I think I'm up to date!! poor flicker!Keith, while the idea of a yellow eye sounds cool I think he probably thinks differently than me!

I see your points on Maedhros and Caranthir, I have trouble picturing any of them (Ambarussa too!) with short hair, but Direwolf!Huan and Maglor and the Sand Snakes!! (And Feanor as Selmys squire, heh I love this fic, just imagine bloody 13 year old Feanor trailing behind him like a duckling through months of fighting)

oddly enough I agree with you, Maglor as one of the eldest Sand Snakes is such an alluring idea!!!

I love Maglor in generell, but especially in this fanfictions. I really hope for him, that this time it will not be a tragedy...
But hen: He got even more siblings! And sisters this time. I really like how he (seems to be/) is the least violent inclined of them and espionage really fits him if I do say so (And now I need a spy!Maglor fanfic XD).

NOPE, creamed spinach.
Food in space is partially or fully dehydrated before launch, since NASA lives by the creed "Every ounce counts", every ounce of weight launched into space costs money. So since the station recycles about 85% it's water supply, why launch water which is unnecessary dead weight. Fruits and vegetables are 60-80% water by mass. Meat is 75% water so they launch food packaged, dry to carry more food weight.

Food in space is prepped in several....formats. To save weight and space, NASA abandoned the can and keeps it's foods in plastic pouches that are often dehydrated to remove the water weight (which makes up as much as half or more of the food)
Namely NASA uses labels to brand everything.
B: for beverage. freeze dried mixes like coffee and tea. Flavored drinks like lemonade and juices
FF: Fresh foods, often launched during resupply missions, these items must be consumed Immediately in the first few days before spoiling.
I: Irradiated, Meat that's been sterilized. These are reheated by means of a space heater like a waffle iron that presses the two sides
NF: Natural form: foods that can be packed aboard without preparation as that's not required as they're eaten as is (Nuts, cookies, granola bar, etc)
NASA even tried Soda in space

NASA's food rehydrator, in essence the oven. The food is placed on the lip of the package, then a needle punctures the top, the The astronaut selects how much water is needed by turning the knob as the meals are labeled with the instruction, the temperature (Hot or ambient, as they have no refrigeration) and let it mix. Cut the package across and eat as follows.

mostly they eat foods that are moist and sticky. Water's surface tension makes those foods perfect since they tend to glob together in Zero gravity.
