Yep. This is it.
This is the story basically.
Ok, so if you have found this one deviation you probably know a lot of this universe, but if not, then at least you gotta know that:
a) Sunstreaker is one side of the universe, separated from his twin and currently the reluctant unofficial guardian of a youngling named Hot Rod.
and
b) Sideswipe is on the other side of the galaxy , working with bluestreak
In the image:
Sideswipe is traveling with Bluestreak, onthey fight Decepticon bases and try to recruit any wayward autobots on their way. Still, it’s a difficult task he doesn’t wish on anyone else, and he can only hope that wherever he is, Sunny is not having such a hard time as him.
…Sunstreaker on the other hand, is playing paintball.
I like to headcanon that Sunny had long ago decided to train this kid to use firearms (after all, that increases Hot Rod's chances of survival) only Mirage suggested a...slight change in the type of weapon. Overall, it's a great success!

PS1: the beginning of this paintball game was supposed to be a free for all, but Mirage kept winning so now Sunny and Hot Rod are teaming up to defeat him!
PS2: someone commented how Sides was battling enemies left and right while Sunny was playing cards and having the time of his life. I don’t remember who said that, but you inspired me good sir.

Must be some pretty intense rounds. I know just with some average to above average players it is intense! I does seem like a lot of fun to go up against a spy though!

... Nope! But he will let a youngling he found worm his way into his spark. I love your SARMA universe so much.
EEEHEE HEE Hot Rod has shot Sunstreaker four times!!! And Sunstreaker has retaliated on Hot Rod three!? Hot Rod got a pass the first time with an "oopsie" when he shot Sunstreaker, then every time afterward Sunstreaker shot him over the spark. Please tell me that was the case! Oh wait no, I missed the yellow splotch on Hot Rod's knee. Sunstreaker shoots "now your knee is out"
And he trained him in guerrilla tactics!!! Please tell me Sunstreaker has painted Hot Rod to look like a rock or part of a planet before as camouflage!
Yet when all this is happening, Sideswipe is in the thick of the war, (not that Sunstreaker is never in any real danger) but you captured Sideswipe's harder edge and worry in the first panel so well. It hurts even though I know what's going on with Sunstreaker, Sideswipe doesn't *wails.*

I know! Sunstreaker is the kind of guy who would leave his apartment in Kaon to get a drink, meet a cybercat on the way to the bar who would now follow him forever and find a dobious job while he's ordering his drink.
Oh yeah! you noticed the shots!! yeah! I like to imagine that Sunny got shot first, and Sunstreaker was trying to be nice and shot him in the knee as a warning shot so Hot Rod could be more "on his guard" but as Hot Rod continued to let his defense down, Sunny kept shooting him in the spark until Hot Rod learned to guard his front... but Mirage kept shooting from the shadows so they set up a truce to hunt him down. ;D
Oh dear! I'd love to imagine Sunny trying to paint Hot Rod, but we all know Hot Rod is a little fragger whot back talks, so the first thing he'd say would be:
Rod: how about you Sunstreaker? aren't you going to paint yourself
Mirage: yeah Sunshine, aren't you going to paint yourself green and grey? you're the guardian, you have to give the example for little button here.
Rod: don't call me that!
...and we all know Sunny would not stand for that!

hehe, probably a part of his CPU was having a stroke over the ruined state of his painting, but most of his internal computer was just eager to win and beat Mirage!

to be fair sunny has also had some hairy situations that he had to get a child through and was completely isolated while Sides has been in contact with the bulk of the autobot forces.
So there have probably been times where sunny was plaling dodge the con with hotrod while sides was playing pool with the dinobots.

I only imagine when Sides hears about this he's cursing at the universe for his luck. "I gotta fight 'cons left and right while my bro just plays paintball with his adopted son and Mirage?!?!?! TIME TO SWITCH THINGS UP" *He kidnaps Hot Rod for a week of paintball because he's the awesome uncle and wants some fun to. Sunny aint even mad, he gets some peace and quiet for once*

Hot Rod: "That was pretty good, Mirage. (pause) "Mirage?" (He comes over to Mirage in worry, and shakes him.) "Mirage? Mir-aaaaaahhh!!"
(Mirage leaps up, and picks Hot Rod with a laugh, tickling the youngling.)

Sides knows Sunny has a perchance to be involved in the most unlikely situations, most of the time they are also 100% Not Good so he's probably fearing Sunny is currently battling a full nest of insecticons!
