Even if you don't much like the photo, I think the setup was very creative. The ball provides its own light, so the exposure is getting that the whole time, but the one flash freezes you (or whomever) in the middle of a jump.
Nice timing on that jump, too. Did you have a remote flash, or is it someone else?

thanks.
No remote flash or whatever, it's just me and timer mode. I REALLY don't like this shot now. Haha. Oh well. Shows how style changes over a year ish.

You're right, you've had a dramatic change in style. Still gritty and whatnot, but definitely different. More abstract and conceptual than just whimsical. I very much enjoy both.

rad!
I've been slowly gathering video shots for my film. I'm making the soundtrack myself as well. I really can't wait till that exists becuase it will be the first time i have something far more emmersive than photography that shows my imagination. a complete world if you will. How have things been with you anyway>? I hope all is well?

What are you planning on doing with this film, and what's it about (or are you going to be secretive about it, like usual)? The DIY soundtrack ought to be fantastic! Whatever you want, you can get, right there, and change it if it's still unsatisfying. When it's finished, or somewhere in the middle, let me know if there's a way I can see it.
With me, "all" is essentially well. I'm in one of those miserable periods where you learn from something, but it's ungodly painful for a few months at a time. Not that I don't have fun here and there, but sheesh, is it a pain growing up sometimes. Hooray for photography and sunlight to keep me sane. And friends. Friends are helpful too.
So thanks. And good luck on the film.

The film is really just a bigger peice of my imagination than the photos are. I'm not sure how to explain it. A way to practise asthetic moving visuals instead of stills. It will only be about 2 minutes long. Infact. What inspired me alot is the trailer to drawing restraint 9 - [link] (the yellow strobe scene in the middle is amazing) I haven't seen the film but i love the harsh electric soundscapes in combination with the shots. My film will have much influence from this. Half the shots in that trailer though are very direct, literal, no surrealism. If possible my film will be composed purely of imaginative shots, veiled, dark, joyfull, disorientating. This is to evoke more imagination from the viewer. I think things are stronger if they are formed or based from the mind than presented right to you, and this is why my style isn't always direct. There will be no given story. Apart from that i don't know how else to explain it, but i'll make sure you're able to see it as soon as it's finished. It will take a while though. I'm sorry to hear you are suffering, although it's good that you know things will get better. All you can do is try to entertain yourself until things look up. And they will.

It's about a giant glob of Vaseline.
Sounds like you. XD
You're right about the music, though, with those slow pans. Actually, if you want to look into any excellent techno, I'm a good person to ask. You probably have plenty of your own, but I'm sure there's something here you'd like - even just to listen to yourself.
As for things being stronger based in the mind... yes and no. People do believe conclusions they reach themselves, yes. But if you hit them head-on once in a while, the sudden sharpness out of the fog gets their attention. As usual, I'm for a mix. For what you're trying to accomplish, though, the imagination makes perfect sense. Everyone has his own story and his own connotations to attach to what he sees. And if your purpose is to evoke any strong emotion, you're probably on the right track.

You and your headlessness. *snicker* I don't think you HAVE a head.
You're the headless ninja!
Cool photo, BTW. ^__~
