Dude, how did I NEVER post these?? After the multiple rounds of me going back into my archives to dig out interesting relics, you'd think I would've brought out something this important, but anyway, yes

In August 2016, after about 4 years of being a furry on some level, but having only recently admitted it (kek), I decided to try my hand at making a fursona. Since fennec foxes were my favourite animal, that was what I went for, and I basically made a furrified version of my ponysona from that era:

I did one with the ponysona's colours, one with more naturalistic colours, and one where i crudely overlaid them on top of each other for a beautiful sickly green colour, but none of it sparked joy, so I gave up there.

A month later, I had another shot: obviously, I should be a dragon, since those are my true calling, but let's make it a furred dragon for the sake of uniqueness, with a nice big bushy tail... aaaand let's just go with the ponysona's look again instead of trying something new. This one is honestly way better than the fennec, but I still didn't really know how to make it special, so I again left it alone.

And then of course, almost exactly 2 years after my first attempt, I tried again and actually built a design to represent me from the ground up, with much better results!

Honestly I'm glad I held off until I had enough experience to make the boy as we know him today, but it does make me wonder what my sona could have looked like if I'd put in the effort back then...
