Gray scale with Copic, one of my FAVORITE things to do with them!Β Great job on the shading!

So the paper seems to be a textured Bristol board, or maybe watercolor paper.Β That seems like it would suck your ink right out of your pen and never give any back.Β is that true?Β what kind of paper is it anyways?

It's textured watercolour paper, yeah, and actually I find that it doesn't absorb the ink straight away... It keeps it suspended in the top layer of the paper (which is super good for blending) and then after a few seconds or so, it dries out quite nicely. Mixed media paper is also good for that too

Thanks for the reply!Β
I typically use a smooth bristol, I've been hesitant to try the watercolor, I might do it now.Β Too bad no one around here sells just 1 sheet so I can try it.Β My brother bought me a large pack of generic paper from Amazon.Β 11x17 white, almost card stock type paper.Β That has been reacting very well with the copics thus far.

That's alright!
Mm, I'd recommend it! That's a shame, unless you were to find a small watercolour pad that wasn't too expensive? Oh right, that sounds good too, and I bet it's nice to have the smooth finish, which is one of the downsides to some watercolour papers - you can always see the texture coming through. Though some may see that as a good thing
