Description Cuz a movie earns profit, it's not a 100% guarantee that it's quality is gold. As the post for Transformers TLK shows is the perfect indicator amongst the rest of the Bayformers provides a clear example how higher box office numbers doesn't equal quality. It's more so how it can be profited of from and what warrants it. While they do earn profit's and make money there's a particular longevity to those earnings.

As one particular example to this would be the Marvel Cinematic Universe which was the biggest box office juggernaut (keyword being WAS given the current state of what the MCU has become) has a lot of unconditional fans and would often use a lot of cheap tricks through social media manipulation such as trailer baiting, theory culture and falsifyied hype. From where I am going with this is that Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness last year in 2022 which had the biggest box office opening of May 6th and despite the title of "a franchise too big to fail" and all of the tricks Disney and Marvel utilized; the movie earned less thanks to word and mouth spreading how Doctor Strange MOM was to an extend a very shallow experience, the profits dwindled while still making money didn't even crack a billion. I know that some would refute me and say it's cuz some folks where tired of superhero movies and there wasn't a whole lot to offer for those who even really got caught up with the other MCU tie-ins; my point still stands.

Another box office success of 2022 would be Top Gun: Maverick which didn't earn off by using all of MCU's tricks while representing themselves well in the promotional material. But understandibly Doctor Strange MOM won the opening weekend earnings by a substancial margin; TGM hadn't even made a third of there all time domestic box office and then doubles the the domestic box office earnings of Doctor Strange MOM, that doesn't however include the international box office numbers.

It's more so how there's a particular pattern with how this works: a bad movie would still earn money and open strong, but the majority of those that seen it would spread the word of how it was either god awful or just a very shallow experience then the viewer just leave and never speak about it again or just don't explain how the movie was any good. Good movies on the other hand (most of the time) make a whole lot of money not because they start strong, but they keep making people come back and spread quickly because of word an mouth and there's no subsitute for it.
