Blimey, this one is mammoth! Took me quite a while to do and there are still things I would like to tidy up. The line art being the primary one.Anyway this fight is The Flook versus Shashav , Deathwish , Deet Girl , Dandy Jane and Silver Saber for 's AFL 3 quarterfinals. Since AC gave us free reign to set our fight where we please I decided to visit an idea I had for the My City Screams arena.
This battle sees the combatants attending the first ever AFL-CON. I thought that since AFL seems to have its own medical team, judges, uniforms, chibi doll line, and probably lots more products, it should have its own convention for all its fans to gather at. Cosplayers get in free.
All the other AFL OCs you see are cosplayers (hence why they don't look exactly like them) except for the OCs on the posters. I'll try to list them if I can remember them all:

Whachamacallit, Super Squirrel, Tilia on the posters in panel 2

Ninja Guy, Joe Hero, Dante in panel 27(?)
The chibi dolls (inspired by the Fisitcuff fights) are whoever you can make out, I did draw actual OCs but when I came to colour them I forgot who I'd drawn, so I did the best I could.
The busty silver saber fan is in a silver sabre costume, and the autograph nerd is in a Myo costume.

This is absolutely hilarious! Everything from the setting, to the multiple gags and events, to the brawl The Flook has with security is just too much!

I saw the little thumb-image in the AFL journal, and just thought, "Hm. This is going to be HILAIRIOUS. Wait - I can't put THAT much pressure on anybody, I mean, I don't want to be disappointed and and not find it funny."
I'm glad to say, I was right first time.
HILARIOUS. Absolutely bloody genius. The Flook is just plain awesome. AWESOME. I love how he takes down the security guard. Reminds me of Superbad - when the kids split from the policemen, and Seth Rogen's all like, "I can't catch him...... his a freak....... He's the fastest kid alive........."

I'm very glad you enjoyed it. I always love those bits in films where something funny is going on in the background when you should be really paying attention to whats happening in front of you, so I wanted to do the fight in the background. Hardest part was trying to figure out how to make Silver Saber take 8 panels just to write his name, lol!

I saw on one of Leigh's journals some one had suggested tag-team style match-ups; I'd love to see The Flook and Mac riding their bikes/scooter into battle together. 'Twould be awesome. Rule Britannia and all that jazz.
But I really do hope to see more of The Flook. You're panels never failed to put me in a good mood.

That sounds like a good idea. I think I will have a go at that! I'm currently trying to come up with a whole AFL celebration image for Rocket within every fighter in it, I think you will like that one too.

I have them from time to time - not often, mind. Tbh, more than often than not, I act like a real life version of the Flook - some idiot blocked my car in yesterday, so when I managed to pull out, I paint balled his side window.
Awesome, look forward to seeing it - think I'm going to start spit-balling ideas for the reward image, then get started over the weekend.

hahaha, that was just awesome man. Epic flook comic, and AFL-con is a genius idea and setting! I love the idea of the cosplayers looking ridiculous, and the posters and merchandise, love those little details trying to cram in other peoples characters. I also liked how the colour palette changed with each opponent or scene, and its just a nice, funny story with good gags, poses and expressions. Top stuff.

I'm glad you like it, I had a bit of trouble colouring her, but I think she looks OK. I enjoyed the few other previous Deet Girl vs Dandy Jane matches so I wanted to make it a good one!
