oday is about drawing ourselves a butt.

You see the muscles color coded: purplish pink for the gluteus maximus, darker purple for the gluteus medius, and the tensor fascia latae in petrol color.

Together they almost form a donut-shape, with the top of the bone of the upper leg at its center, only covered by a few layers of ligament.
The butt muscles, especially the gluteus maximus is one of the (if not the) strongest muscles we humans have, as any time you pick something up or lift a weight you also have to use your butt in order to keep the object of your lifting in the air while sustaining a stable pose.
There is also a pad of fat at the bottom on each side which, I assume, has the purpose to make sitting more comfortable for the owner, but also contributes to the many variations we can have fun with when drawing and stylizing our characters.
