Drawing the leg is difficult. But drawing the leg in perspective can be some crazy cannelloni. On this little cheat sheet you see a possible solution on how to divide and stylize the complex muscles into understandable shapes you can draw without getting overwhelmed by their complexity. When you draw your own characters you don't need to know every anatomical detail, but you probably want a method that is good enough, so your audience won't tilt their heads and wonder, what has she drawn here.. ?

Reference is taken from (yes, again, and no I don't get sponsored yet ), and while the drawings at the top are drawn from a male reference, the bottom ones are drawn from a female one. You can see the difference especially when you look at the shape of the upper legs.

I'm going to stick a bit longer to the subject or the leg, maybe I can find a few more solutions. Which methods do you find helpful when drawing legs?
