This is FINALLY finished and is my contribution toThe Rose of May’s competition. Center is her character May Rose. She had expressed an admiration for classical paintings and you cannot get more classical than Botticelli’s Birth of Venus—please don’t flame me. I realize that Birth of Venus is not 19th century. Still, I felt it fit the bill.
This made me laugh to do and cry trying to execute. It took FOREVER, and sadly the product does not evidence the effort! Still, I hope you like it. I still love the idea and it’s ludicrous,ambitious pretentiousness.

No painting is more classic than Birth of Venus...except maybe Primavera, which I did as a companion piece at the suggestion of another deviant. With the parameters of the competition this was perfect. I didn’t win, but it was fun!

Okay, this is freaking amazing. It’s the definition of beauty, but it’s also hillarious. I trully can see why this took so long, the attention to detail, especially all thos dots. I love renaissance paintings, and I remember it being one of the examples of how they painted in that era, when I still had art class at school (we had art class in the 1st 7 years of education in Poland, I don’t know how it is now, since there was a major reform in 2016)
