Thanks!    As for doing something easy, obviously choose an easy character design.  Something you'd maybe see someone wear in real life.  Like school clothes or an army uniform.  You can find many clothes like these in thrift or used clothing stores, and they're usually pretty cheap.  For starters, you should think of a few characters you could realistically cosplay, go to a thrift store, and see if you can find all the clothes you need to make one or more cosplays.  Let me know if you have any more questions.
