Description
a true short bus but not the kind that carry the crazy kids. This here's a small 30 foot Flexible Metro C belonging to Cleveland RTA. no 4711's a 1991 model bus that spends its days slowly roaming around downtown on the 147 "inner Loop" route. all of these buses are slower than crap and are never seen going over 30mph unless they are going back to the Garage via the interstate, where they only get up to 55mph.Related content

lol it is a short bus!
reminds me of Chattanooga's electric shuttle buses...
those went out of manufacturing a few years ago when the local company that made them shut down...
it was called "Advanced Vehicle Services" and try to google it... they don't exsist any more.

OH MY GOSH!!! we got Opus trollies here in Cleveland....ill post a pic....they are ass ugly i tell ya. now a D4500 is fast regardless of the engine. Ever seen an M-11 powered 102DL3 (ole school D4500) before? It sounds odd but got some balls. Every Orion V ive rode was thunderously fast, even the old ones. Ill give u a slow bus. a 1985 Flexible Metro A powered by a Detroit 6V71N. Blackburg Transit in Virginia has a few, atleast i still think they are there. very slow buses, out Loop Buses can dog'em and a Ride mower can out pace them.....

LOL! UTA used to have some sweet busses, 1990 MCI Classics! Thoses were sweet! They reminded me of the Old '55 GMC "Fishbowls". The Opus Optima is acctually a nice bus! Its powerd by a twin turbo 245 HP Cummins IL-4 DOHC with an Allison 5 speed automatic. I was on one (#05031) that hit a top speed of (get this) 95MPH!

whoa!! thats some power! our Opus trollies only have a little Cummins ISB 5.9 liter 4 inline of around 250hp or so. its not twin turboed but but them little buses move! Tranny more likely is an Allison B300R ATEC. Cleveland RTA used to have some awesome sounding buses. i remember our old 1978/79 (4100 and 4200s) GMC RTS Slope Backs! Those heavy tanks had 8V71N that smoke like mad. most of them had awesome power and the 3rd gear shift power clunk was simply awesome. Sadly though we dropped those startin in 1996,the last of them kicking the bucket in late 1998. We also had alotta fast Cummins L-10 powered Flexible Metros from 1988,1990 and 1991. These h ad the Voith 863 transmission and just about all of them were fast. 8871 was the fastest of the 1988 Metros. That bus would crack 75mph with no problem. Had a freshly rebuilt L-10 and Tranny. 9040 and 9041 were known as rockets. They took off from the line faster than a Greyhound G4500!! They only topped out at 65mph though. 9132,9133 and all of the 9100s past 9165 to 9177 were speed demons. They had fairly good pick up but the top end were somewhere like at,80mph. Sadly only 2 of those buses are still here, 9127 and 9129. The rest of them have been retired 2 years ago. 9164 was also still rolling around but it had no radio and no Transit Master system so it was basically destined for the scrap line.
