Now he was 6 months old we decided to take our gangly GSD pup Sammy to his first conformation event. We had been training him at home and was pleased by his progress though showing him in a real ring would be something completely new for the pup. We took him around the halls a few times letting him get used to the numerous dogs and people and letting him greet a few to before returning to our base camp to groom him and do a few last minute warm ups for his stack. Once we were in the ring Sammy walked nicely beside us all the way and even though he seemed curious about the other pups beside him he managed to hold his stance while the judge looked him over.
