Class work (Painting I) - The assignment was to create something. Anything. I made this portrait of no one, mainly because I was stressed, and painting hair relaxes me. I'm not completely satisfied with it, but it'll do for now.Apparently, she looks apocalyptic. I'm okay with this.

i would agree...i think it's the solid black eyes that give it that look. Nothing wrong with that...i think this piece looks great.

great job! I really love it. great composition: the hair the lines in the background-it all works together very nicely. Art makes me focused; sometimes lessens stress, sometimes increases it. i dont know. But the hair looks amazing here.

Oh I agree, art can really increase stress depending on the circumstances. I often remind people of that - even though it's what I love to do, it can still be very frustrating. Anyway, I'm glad you like her hair.
