Description
This was drawn back when I first cooked up Inflatabelle. She was originally a Darkwing Duck villan. In the story I envisioned, one of the only ways Darkwing could stop her was to fill her with water so she couldn't move.
In retrospect, it was a bizarre idea. However, considering that this was a series where ol'Drake had to fight a demonic harlequin that lived in an evil jack-in-the-box that possesed a Mr. Banana Brain doll, my idea doesn't seem quite that odd anymore.
(Note: Hair style has changed since then. What was I thinking?)

Thank you! That's actually a great observation. Making sure the set up is clear and easily read from a distance is one thing I try to aim for.

I believe being arrested counts.

She would have made a really bad criminal. No self esteem, little motivation and a lot of alcohol.

When putting the laws of cartoons into play, she might be pretty destructive with a little creativity -
I'm thinking an abundance of propane tanks, a strikeable match and a location in proximity to an important city building.
Threaten to blow it up if she doesn't get a cash sum, inflate self with the tanks when she doesn't, and explode like a bomb using the match and her propane filled self.
Quick reform with those cartoon physics, and the deed's done.

One catch, she can't reform.
Heal punctures, sure, but recover from a full on Hindenburg explosion? Nope. It's a one way trip to the bone orchard for her if she did that.

Eeeep. I guess she can't be a.. umm.. persistent... suicide.. bomber then. Unless I gave her some reforming magic, but it's not like she'd accept it.
So I'm out of other ideas to make her feel useful. Except maybe a job as a expansion product or buffet spokesperson/model. But you probably thought of those; they're pretty basic.

Well She'd be an excellent model to showcase the latest model of gastank.
And she gets a rather chubby appearance from a small inflation (recalling one of your old pictures) , so she could look like a very happy customer after an all-you-can-eat session. With a before and after, she'd make it look like the food was -so- good she didn't care about her weight. She could do it for real I suppose too~

*Nodnod* A gifty sketch, yes. I was going to send you a note, but since you replied...!

Of just play wacky sound effects over her swears and have shots of the reactions of the other characters in the scene. That would work.

You-Were-Snarked In reply to GreyOfPTA [2010-01-22 02:49:13 +0000 UTC]
Actually, that's even better. I say one of the sound effects has to be a rubber ducky, though. Because...I don't know, it amuses me. But the character reactions work wonderfully. Kind of like how we only saw the shadow of Negaduck weilding his chainsaw in the direction of the other members of the fearsome four.
By the way, love this pic. I forgot to mention it, for some odd reason. And I love that DWD had to come up with a silly way to deffeat her. And Darkwing's expression in hilarious.

When I access the page on your site the doesn't show up in either standard or full view at your site but shows up as a thumb nail on my favorites. There is a tiny gray rectangle in the top center of where the file should be displayed in both regular and full views. Something is odd about it.

And he had some great villans! (Though now I am compelled to sit and try to name them all.)
Uh anyway, Oh I agree with Calbeck, too. Disney toons seem routinely stretchable.

'Belle did start out as a fan character for the Darkwing universe, but the humor of her alcoholism and crude language made her very un-TVYfv. If I have haven't posted it already, I have to slap up the storyboard panel I have of 'Belle looming over Darkwing, getting ready to whomp him one.

When you think about it, quite a bit of inflation-related stuff went on in various episodes. Characters got blown up, trapped in bubbles, rode on same, etc...and every other stretchable character in existence (ex: Plasticman) has done the inflation thing more than once. So I'd say it's hardly out of character for a place like Saint Canard. -

Actually, one of the few Marvel comics that I really enjoyed (in those waning years before finally I gave up the Way of Stan) was "Damage Control". All about the poor mortal bastards who had to perform the engineering feats necessary for cleanup after city-wrecking spandex battles. Was great for about seven issues --- then someone got the bright idea of making one of the workers into a God-like super himself and the series rapidly imploded from there. But it DID spawn one of the great lines from the series..."Yeah, he took off like a bat outta hell...wasn't calling out sick, he said he felt fine, like he was having an ORIGIN or some damn thing..."
