I have so much stuff to catch up to, but I'm getting there slowly.
This is so bittersweet - I like that THIS is Belles biggest fear - just shows that she's really just a scared little girl, who doesn't want to disappoint her parents.
I love the design of her parents, and I really want to get around and draw them at some point - they just look so adorable, both of them.
As always you have this amazing sense of comic-composition; your use of blue and blacks also really helps emphasising the dream-sequence from her waken status.
The last panel really breaks my heart - I'm only putting up with this horrible-Belle-abuse because I KNOW you'll make up for it by letting Belle rejoin her parents... RIGHT

That's a good hook. Everyone fears that. I know I dream about being yelled at by my parents, sometimes.

There's a certain Peanuts quality to Belle. By that I mean the comic strip, and Belle's "Charlie Brown" karma. It's not that she deserves bad things being heaped on her, but that's simply the way things are on occasion.
Such surprising depth.

Ok, I'll be honest. The last two panels? Quite high on the 'disturbingly hot' scale for me, due to a variety of insanities that only really apply to my solitary brain. Gives things a rather unusual twist for the ending, albeit entirely unintended on your part.

God...I'm glad that, at least on FS, Belle has J. Gander. This is just nasty and heartbreaking. Though it shows that Belle wasn't very secure even before the accident if her whole self worth is based on the approval of her parents.

I thought about that today.
The scene in my head was Belle (reality and not in a dream) telling her folks that she doesn't want to become a meteorologist and would rather be a pilot. She admits that she already enrolled in a pilots training course.
Her folks look at each other in slight disappointment because they already knew and had picked out a pilots school for her to go to, but didn't want to tell her and ruin her big reveal. Belle misinterprets their reaction as disappointment in her, and that sets her view of them for the rest of her life.

Seriously, this is one nasty nightmare. And other than with the rubber-related nightmares I think this is one many of us can relate to. Especially when she's looking so happy and proud in the first panel... Of course waking up in a basement all inflated isn't really helpful either...
Will somebody kindly get that girl some therapy!

Yes. When she has a panic attack she hyperventilates. More air goes in than out = bloated Belle. However, here that is couples with her snoring expanding her for the same reason.

Wow, her folks sound like super D-bags. That's a heap load of guilt for messing up some complicated bureaucratic paperwork. Especially when, I dunno, YOUR DAUGHTER IS A SUPERHERO! (not a grade-A one, mind you, but still!)

People behave in very unexpected ways in nightmares. It's her self-hatred manifesting itself through her fear of letting them down, I'm thinking.

Okay, sometimes dreams can blur the lines. Friend of mine used to have dreams of her parents yelling at her for nothing and being disappointed, yadda, yadda, but that wasn't far from the truth. But Belle's a fun character to theorize about, fears real or manifested.
