I still say that the Splatter that melted was a painted copy that the real Splatter made to see what DW would do if she launched a full scale crime spree. But that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Ah, Splatter Phoenix. I actually felt kind of bad about her death. I mean, I connected with her because of her art, even at a young age. I did find it interesting how she hated using classic cartoon gags. (Even funnier, because she was the "cartoonist" in this sense.) Although...She did hate comics...Crazy woman.
But yeah, love your picture. I can easily imagine this as being the start down the wrong path. Then maybe she had some kind of chemical accident, while creating her special paint. (If the Liquidator can survive having his molecules rearanged, then I can see how Splatter could as well.)
By the way, love that pose!

I always thought, wait, what if the Splatter that appeared in the second episode wasn't the real Splatter?
What if that was a painted copy that the real Splatter sent out on an obvious crime to see what DW would do to stop her?
It would add an in-story explanation as to why the voice was different.

Splatter Phoenix was my favorite character from that series... even though she only got one ep, as far as I remember...

Actucally, there were two with her in them. The second episode was called 'Paint Misbehavin'". Poor Splatter was 'killed' in it. She melted in turpentine.
Mind you, this episode generated a lot of conflicting theories behind what really happened to her.
