“__? __, it’s time to take your pill.” Kankri gently rubbed your arm as you laid on the couch, holding the gauze that was drenched in blood. Your gums were sore as hell, and your jaw felt like it was cracked out of place.

Who knew getting wisdom teeth pulled could be this painful. “No, Ish don’t wantsh to takesh iths.” you struggled to talk with a mouth full of gauzes to capture the blood. Although you knew the pain killers would help eliminate the excruciating pain (Well, perhaps you were exaggerating), you were scared you’d act far too crazy in front of Kankri.

Kankri Vantas, your moirail, had earlier today generously driven you to the dentist to get you wisdom teeth pulled. The dentist ordered him to be the one to make sure he’d keep track of how many you took, since Kankri was your moirail. “__, you have to take this pill.” he sighed and poured one pill into his palm. Kankri handed you the glass of water along with the pill.

Although your eyes were still closed as you held the glass of water and the pill, you could sense he was still standing beside you to make sure you took the pill. Grumbling, you slowly pulled out the two bloody gauzes and put them on a napkin, popping the pill into the back of your mouth and dowsing it down with the cold water.

You could taste the bitter taste of the pill linger on your tongue and you gagged, opening your mouth as Kankri checked to see you weren’t hiding it under your tongue or something. “Do you need another blanket?” he asked and watched you fall back down into your mound of pillows.

You nodded vaguely a ‘yes’ and Kankri walked down the hallway and pulled out another red blanket from the closet. He carried it back out and smiled to see you breathing in and out as your face sunk into the pillows. He covered you up with the third blanket and sat down on the other couch; eating a sandwich he had made for himself.

After a rough fifteen minutes, Kankri looked over at you as he heard muffled laughter. “Here we go…” he took in a deep breath and sat on the edge of the couch you laid down on, preparing to hold you down from getting up or doing something stupid.

You sat up, your hair was frizzy from rolling around under piles of blankets and pillows. “Hey you,” you pointed at Kankri before bursting into hysterical laughter. “get out of my house!” you spat as you spoke. Kankri flinched and gritted his teeth, trying not to get irritated by your sloppy speaking. “Heeelp!” you called and began smacking at Kankri’s face as if he was an intruder.

“Shh, don’t yell…” he whispered and tried to lay you back down, but you refused. No matter how much he tried to keep you quiet, the pain killers were kicking in, not to mention your outdoor voice. There were lectures to come when this pill wore off… But then again, it wasn’t your fault in all honesty.

You kicked the blankets off of you and squinted, looking at Kankri. “You, you’re that guy…” you gasped and widened your eyes, but narrowed them again like you could barely see him. Kankri sat awkwardly in front of you, a tinted red blush heating up his cheeks. “You- you gotta…” you hiccuped and waited a few minutes before you smashed your lips onto Kankri’s. Kankri was caught off guard, and waited a moment before he disconnected the electric kiss. ’She’s on meds, Kankri. It’s not like she meant it.’ he cringed at his thinking and pushed you over.

“__, you need to calm down. I’m going to get you a cool cloth.” he said, hoping that might help you relax.

When Kankri came back with a red cloth soaked in cool water, he saw that you weren’t on the couch. “Oh great,” he growled sarcastically. “__..?” he cooed your named and put the cloth on the coffee table before walking into the living room to look for you.

Kankri plopped down on the couch, tired of searching for you and remembered he still hadn’t checked the bathroom. Although he was almost positive you wouldn’t be in there, who knew what those pain killers would drag you into. Before he went off looking in the bathroom, he checked the time. “Approximately ten more minutes until this pill wears off.” he spoke aloud. He started to panic, Kankri knew he had to find you before the pill wore off and your teeth began to hurt again.

He shuffled down the hallway and turned on the lights. To his surprise, you were standing on the sink touching the ceiling. “__!” he shouted, startling you which caused you to fall. Kankri sighed and crouched beside you, making sure you were OK. “Why were you climbing on the sink?!” he asked and you just replied with a generous smile.

“I followed the dot.”

“What do-” he remembered the pills. “Oh, right…” Kankri sighed and pulled you up to your feet again. “Okay, looks like the dot is wandering into the living room. C’mon.” he guided you back into the living room where you were returned to the bed.

You woke up with your gums still hurting, but not as severe. You sat up and saw the lights were on, but dimmed and checked a near clock that hung on the wall. 9:32 pm. You yawned and heard rain pitter-patter on the roof. Then you remembered that you had your wisdom teeth pulled and you agreed to spend the night at Kankri’s place. “Kanny..?” you called and put your feet on the cold floor, sending small shivers in your ankles.

You rubbed your eyes and fixed your blurry vision. Karkat walked into the living room and rolled his eyes, scoffing as he saw you awake. “Kankri, your fucking girlfriend is up.” Karkat grumbled something to himself, walking into his bedroom.

Girlfriend? Hmph… Kankri walked in and smiled a little to see you up. “Morning~” he walked into the living room the rest of the way with a bowl of hot soup and a spoon resting on the side. “I made you some soup to ease your teeth. By the way, how are they?” he asked and placed the bowl onto the table.

You smiled, finding it adorkable how Kankri was sweet enough to make you soup. “Better than before.” you shrugged and scooted forward, scooping out some soup and blowing on it before you pushed the spoon into your mouth and ate the soup. “By the way,” you swallowed. “how’d you manage? Putting up with me and all?” you smiled a little.

Scarlet red began to flush on his cheeks, and he stiffened in his crab-red sweatshirt. “Er, well it took some really touch patience to stay in order and not yell at you.”

You stood up and wrapped your arms around Kankri lovingly, smiling as you stood on your tip-toes to reach him. “Thank you for helping me, Kanny.” you giggled and felt him slowly wrap his arms around you.

Kankri didn’t respond, but instead hugged you tighter and tighter until your chest was completely pushed up against him. You could hardly breath! “Ka-Kankri, ca-can’t bre-breath…” you choked and he immediately let go, bashfully looking everywhere but at you.

“Sorry…”

You smiled brightly. “It’s okay.” you gave him a last hug but he quickly pushed you away. Surprised, you looked at him with a confused face. “Kan.?”

“...Triggers… going… off…” he froze and you smirked, kissing him on the cheek gently.
