Lt JG Pete Munro prepares to land his damaged A-4 Skyhawk back on the USS Oriskany, his aircraft was damaged while on a mission over North Vietnam. He was hooked to an A-3 Tanker from the coast of Vietnam until he disconnected on final approach.After successfully being repaired the aircraft was put back into combat.

The good ol scooter! I remember reading about a guy who got back to his boat (but had to eject) with the left gear gone, part of the right wing missing, and the rudder blown completly away!
