Yeah, I kinda have to agree. I would have loved to know more about him and especially the shadow that fused with Stygian. Was it like Venom, an alien creature from another world, or just some piece of dark magic from some ancient evil wizard who built the Well of Shade? We learned absolutely nothing!
All that said, I still quite liked Shadow Play. It definitely wasn't the worst season finale ever.

Tbh, I don't really understand the criticism of this character. He's basically just Nightmare Moon 2.0 (evil laughs, monologues, doesn't do a whole lot, easy takedown) but no one has a problem with Nightmare Moon?
