It's not a DD, but I am also somewhat curious as to how these drawings get so much attention (aside from the artists rep and the fanbase...which is kinda the answer). It doesn't bother me, really. I know everyone is free to like what they want.
It does make me happy to see that Griff doesn't only draw ponies like some people...again, people can draw what they like; It's simply a pet peeve of mine when someone draws one thing simply because It's popular.

Remember, the artists don't choose to be on the front page or whether they get any popularity at all. That's your local community of viewers, and your're just giving the drawing a boost higher on the front page by bothering to comment.
