I must say your use of colors is fantastic! The partly desaturated environment makes the glowing sun, as well as the character, stand out more, which is qa truly awesome thing!
Firstly, the character.
You've done a beautiful job in choice of colors on the character, shades and everything! Anatomy-wise, I find it almost perfect.
What I first see is that the closest ear is a little oddly placed. It looks to me that it is viewed and placed as if on a frontal view. This is probably caused by the right part of that ear, appearing to be connected lower than what's normal. This might of course be an illusion due to the shadows in that area, making the ear seeming to be connected lower than usual.
Next is the character's furthest elbow. I don't exactly know much about it, but the elbow seems to be positioned lower than the closest leg, as the fluff is what indicates where the elbow is.
Also, the furthest leg (upper part) is a little thicker than the closest one.
Then the closest back leg. The backlights make the leg seem to get thinner by the paw, which also makes it look like the foot is bended in a weird angle. That is, though, along with all this stuff just minor anatomical things. (I wouldn't have noticed if I drew this myself)
One very last thing on anatomy, is that the character looks fat by his rump, which may of course either be the character's design, or caused by lots of fluff. I find it pretty cool how I clearly can see a line of where the back would've been if it wasn't for the fluff.
Furwise you've done a really good job! I actually don't know of other artists that use the smudge tool like you do! You've marstered the directions of fur way better than what I thought was possible (with the smudge tool), bur you're a master in thinking outside the box when it comes to tools.
As mentioned earlier, you've chosen your color range wisely, and you've done great in blending them and giving each and every one of the strokes their personality.
One stroke, however, seems to have been "broken" by an unexpected direction. I am talking about the brown clump of fur just behind the ear. I think it could either be softly removed and replaced by smaller clumps of fur, or redirected with some smudge magic.
Onto the background!
That sun is lovely. I simply love its strong colors compared to the environment, and the soft shade of orange near the treetops. You've done well is simplifying the background furthest back, which creates a satisfying atmosphere.
Though, the clouds around the sun probably shouldn't be smudged around it; it looks weird and unnatural to me, and don't think clouds like that exists from that perspective (yet, it might always have been on purpose, what do I know)
These clouds also creates some sort of disturbance, like unwanted movement, maybe sometimes confusing the viewer.
I find the closer trees really comfortable to look at, as they softly disappear further up in the picture! That is one clever effect!
The grass the right tree is placed in, creates a great balance in the picture. That grass is so fluffish and cute, it's like I want to cuddle it. This fits perfect for grass at that short distances. The tree's shadow would probably have been a little a little thinner and more angled so that it seemed correctly placed relative to the sun. (That's just a tiny picky thing, but that's because I'm kinda picky lol)
The shades of the rock/earthy area between lower and higher grass level is nicely shaded, and also kinda cute.
Now, closer.
A-W-E-S-O-M-E coloring! The expanded color range (compared to the range further away) totally does its job as an attention magnet! My favourite part of the tree must be the swirly pattern close to the ground.
The grass around there is gracefully smudged, and I especially like the parts around the front paw. the outlining edge area further down could've been darker, though.
I also love that misty effect around the paw!
Now, I'm a little more sceptic to the foreground. The choice of colors is really well here too, but I find the edges a little too sharp compared to the rest of the rather soft picture. I don't think the foreground should be sharper than the main element (the character), as it lightly disturbs the character's softness (which is hard compared to the rest of the picture).
One minor thing I noticed that made the FG seem a little more off, was the backlights on the character. It seemed rather odd that light from behind would only be reflected by the character, and noth the environment, mainly the leaves in the foreground.
Lastly, I really like your signature. And the smudged echo of it gives it a nice touch that matches the picture.

One and a half hours? That would have taken me 5 years to ever get to drawing that good! This is amazing...past amazing this is beautiful, gorgeous, if I were to choose a favorite of my favorites, "Hunter" would be the one...that is fantastic

This is absolutly flawless in my eyes. I love everything about it! Is it a wolf? or maybe a fox? I love how its eyes almost reflect the sun from the backround. And how it's almost... demonic, but in the best way possible
