Did you go to/going to currently a certain college? You don't have to tll if you don't want to, but I'm looking for good schools ATM. :3

xD I just got a batchelor in animation, but if you are wondering what school you should go to if you want to get better, it doesnt matter, because improvement happens when you go in for it.

True.
But it'd be nice if i didn't have to teach myself everything, i want to go to school. :\

xD school is 90% selfteaching, instead of a vid or a tutorial its a person telling you things. But you yourself still have to go in for it to learn it

But i need that! T^T
For example, I couldn't draw a background to save my life and I've tried dozens of times to do it, but it always comes out looking like crap. :\
And I Really Want To Draw Scenery!!! TT^TT
So i figure that if i went to school and lean form people that know how to do that kinda thing, i could get better.
I mean honestly, half the ideas in my head want to be scenes, but i can't make them because i don't know How!

xD there is TONS of amazing tutorials and vids on youtube that would save you time. The best way to learn scenery is to go out and actualy doodle and draw it. School doesnt make you better, you make you better.
I couldnt draw good sceneries either, and when I went to artschool, I didnt learn how to draw it, you learn basic artstuff like shading, form etc which you can easily learn for free over the net and save lots of time. I still have lots to learn when it comes to how to draw nature, and the best way Ive found is to actually go out and see how it works.

True. I have looked at a few tutorials and even bought a "How To" book and for whatever reason my monkey brain cannot comprehend a three dimensional environment of any kind. TT^TT
Plus it'd be nice to have a bit of a collage background if/when i try to get a job as a concept artist for the film and game industries. (however unlikely that is to happen)
Also I'm pretty sure how nature works, I mean for goodness sake this is where i live: [link]
However, Show me the tutorials that helped you with sceneries and what not and I'll give it another shot.

Best way to learn to comprehend a threedimensional enviroment is to actually be in it xD so go outside and doodle lots and lots draw an area from diffrent angles just to see how it moves from how close and far apart from eachother they stand. And you live in a perfect area to do such a thing aswell
The tutorials that helped me the most is nature itself xD

Good idea, But it's also kinda heading towards winter outside, so it's kinda hard to sketch in the frost and snow.
Thanks.

Hey there! c: I know I'm not the one you were asking, but I saw this comment and figured I'd link you to this - [link] My backgrounds sucked before I found that tutorial, and for a while I didn't even attempt to draw backgrounds because I knew in the back of my mind they weren't going to look good. But that tutorial explained some of the basics of perspective in an easy enough to understand way that I actually enjoy drawing backgrounds now. It really helped me out, so I hope it helps you too.
It's most obviously helpful for buildings and stuff like that, but it's good to know for natural scenery as well. Here's a comparison I threw together of an old background of mine and a newer one - [link] and here's the first thing I drew after seeing the tutorial - [link] I've still got a ways to go obviously, but the improvement is coming so much faster now.

I'm glad! GriffSnuff is right, there are lots of great tutorials out there....it's just trying to find the right ones that can be a problem.

Finding the "Right" ones is half the problem.
That and my utter lack of skill in this particular area. T^T
