I love the little frog near the edge that has the cheetah pattern. This is very beautiful balanced! Who says that you can't have complex gryphon charries? XD

Very cool! I want one of those as a pet when someone either discovers their existence, or some scientists creates this. XD.

This is so cool! I don't think I've seen a toucan griffin before!
I really enjoy the painterly feel to this. Loose paintings are some of my favorite (I only wish I could create my own loose paintings, haha! I always end up rendering things too much and getting lost in the detail xD).

Oh haha, me too! I like the detail..and I start out with a lot of detail, and then when I get about 1/3 the way done I realize how long its taken me already and see how much more I have to do..and then I don't want to do it anymore xD! I wish I could paint the detail, in half the time! lol

An endangered species hunted for it's pelt and soft feathers. Because it's incredibly rare and evasive, it's more likely dying out because the males use their camouflage to attract a mate. Unfortunately, the females have a very hard time finding them...
Pfft, that's what came to mind.

Wow! That's a really interesting way to think about that! I went with a mythological background for his species, but the way you have it playing out is very very cool!

slingbees In reply to drunkdrawings [2011-07-14 21:45:29 +0000 UTC]
Psh, I was kidding, actually, I was just thinking how the spots and the bright colors are kind of counter productive since birds have bright colors to attract mates, and leopards... I assume that's a leopard--- use their spots to blend in so... XD

drunkdrawings In reply to slingbees [2011-07-14 21:47:21 +0000 UTC]
He's actually a cheetah. XD Thankfully, he typically eats bugs and such, so he has no need to blend into the surroundings. He just needs that long beak to eat them up.

Ohhh I see. I just thought toucan + tree = leopard. Pfft. That makes sense too though, actually. Or about as much as a hybrid of those two animals can.

Oh, wow! Gorgeous! You're a fantastic photoshop painter.
What kind of brushes did you use for this? Just Photoshop standard ones, or others?
