Description SO I wake up, spent 30 minutes catching this who was flying around INSIDE my house. Let it back outside and it flew off like a flerp. This was extremely hard to hold xD because your not supposta squeeze birds at all, so im just curling my fingers around it lightly.

Thanks obama, now i have to go over my house after work and clean. Who knows how long this has been inside my house.

uuuh.... your not to far off on holding this thing, arent you supposed to kinda wrap your hand around it a certain way? The way I did it was I let the bird stand on my hand while I just held my hand around it

we had a bird fly into our bible building at church and since the ceiling is REALLY HIGH, a buncha people were on stacks of chairs with brooms to get the thing out of the tiny crack of window it flew in by.

What kind of bird is that??? looks like a female red cardinal, but it doesn't have even a little bit of red, maybe not fully grown yet? i dunno...

There aren't red cardinals in Europe.
The bird looks like a Bohemian Waxwing, possibly a juvenile. The beak is totally different

CallunaDraconis In reply to MantaDrifter [2016-07-25 22:54:37 +0000 UTC]

It seems to be way too big to be a sparrow (unless, well- griffsnuff has tiny baby hands), and sparrow females do not have that black "mask" even if their belly colour would match though :Y And the beak is different too :'D
I do live about at the same latitude but in Finland and we too have waxwings so that's why I'm pretty sure that's one and as a bird enthusiastic the whole appearance just screams bohemian waxwing to me xD

Hmm looking at the feathers it seems to be a juvenile of some breed or another though of which I can not be certain.

My grandma totally can relate She had a pidgeon fly to her house many times (she lives on the 6th floor),one time when she was talking on the phone - it just flew through the room and got out xD
She also had a pidgeon make a nest under a table she had on her balcony,I was maybe 7?Two pidgeons hatched out,she even named them and I loved to go to her balcony to just see them x3 Few years later a swallow made another nest just over her window and the same story, but after it she had enough and never let any bird do that again xD
Anyway,it's a really cute bird <3
