It's certainly a startling image, but not an original one. Nobuyoshi Araki was doing this sort of thing years ago. It is slightly different by way of inverting the idea of the photographer as the controlling presence and substituting him/her for the model itself. Very narcissistic, though I would have been more interested to see how the choice of frame, lighting and pose critique and undercuts the model in some way.
