Description
This was the last shoot I did as HUNK (Resident Evil 4 version) before temporarily retiring it. The costume was recently brought out of retirement, and I'm working on some new tidbits for it.Unfortunately these three photographs are all I have left after my harddrive crashed last year. I meant to upload them all, in their unmodified states (I CG'd the lenses to glow, which I now regret) but they're all gone now. Only these three images were saved, and that's because I had uploaded them here.
We'll have to do another one once I'm done updating the costume.

That was custom made from the head of a large flashlight.

I filled in the holes of the MP7, and filed off the sling attachments to try and get the basic details on the body a bit more like the TMP. I also disassembled the stock and removed the left "arm" so that it looks like a TMP folding stock.
I sawed off the folding front grip and slightly shortened a plain vertical grip, then attached it using gorilla glue and superglue.
Then I repainted all of the plastic parts in gunmetal, and filed the black finish of the metal parts off with fine sandpaper.
I cut out grip tape covers for the pistol grip, as HUNK's has a similar texture. Lastly I removed the flash hider, which was easy because it just unscrews from the barrel.
I still need to hide the top rails with a rail cover, also painted in gunmetal, and make a straight magazine instead of a curved one. It's not perfect, but it was fun to do, and it looks good IMO.

Awesome HUNK costume, possibly best I've seen thus far. What'd you use for the web gear?
KSC released an MP9 fairly recently. With a PEQ laser unit, it'd complete the loadout.
There is also the question of what sidearm HUNK uses. In the games, he used a VP70, but probably only for the sake of simplicity.
I think he'd probably use a Sig P226 or similar weapon, since Umbrella issued SigPro SP2009s to the UBCS.

I actually prefer my MP7, although the custom work I've done on it is still unfinished. The MP9 may be slightly closer, but it would still need modding to look like HUNK's gun in RE4. I guess if you're going by the UC and DC look, the MP9 works best, but his "custom" TMP in RE4 was boxier around the front and had a straight vertical grip as opposed to a slanted one.
I don't even carry a sidearm with the RE4 version since he didn't have one in RE4, plus I think the VP70 is uglier than sin.
I use the Desert Eagle .50 AE since he carried one in RE2's minigame, and most fanarts of him show him with the DE if any pistol. So I kind of consider it the fancanon sidearm for HUNK.

That's a good point, but I still think an MP9 is closer than an MP7. All you'd really need to do is add a PEQ laser unit to the side.
Heh. The VP70 honestly feels like crap, too. And it locks a slide lock. Lots of issues with the design. Besides, it doesn't make sense in RE2 that anybody carries one, anyway xD
I personally think HUNK would carry a Sig pistol. All considered, the Umbrella Special Forces have to be discreet. That means carrying guns that fire common as dirt ammo, and possibly share between teammates and individual weapons. Now the fact that HUNK carried an MP9 while everybody carried a MP5 makes it clear he has leeway, but I doubt he'd carry a pistol as distinct and cumbersome as a Desert Eagle.
But, no offense to you or anybody else, fanon doesn't give a damn about realism, eh?

Lol true that. Keep in mind though that canonically, HUNK carried a MP5 in Raccoon City. They gave him a custom TMP in RE4 for one reason or another, and wound up giving it to him in Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles because the people that made those games didn't do their proper homework.

I think it's more cause they didn't want to explain why he changed guns LOL. Did you notice in UC and DSC, he carries a TMP with the stock from RE4, but RE4, he carries an MP9? It's a kind of interesting detail. The reason they did that is because the MP9 wasn't around in 1998. However, they forgot that the Springfield XD (Blacktail), which Ada uses, wasn't imported to the US until a couple years later. Capcom is funny with details, huh?

Now that I think about it, "cheap" or "lazy" would work best, lulz. Hm. For a fiction I'm doing, I just had HUNK pack a Sig P226. I only know one person in real life who can actually carry a Desert Eagle effectively.

Cool. For a complete list, you'll still need a helmet, a balaclava, elbow pads and knee pads, gloves, a duty belt, a misc. pouch, a holster, a butt pack, a pointless drop-leg strap for your left leg, and that oughta do it.

Ah alright im looking into all the pads and gloves now and I thought about the balaclava but would it be cheaper to use like a skull cap? Also what kind of shirt do you use?

A skull cap won't cover your neck. A balaclava will. And they're not very expensive.
You can wear pretty much any shirt you want, as it'll be covered by the flight suit.

Ok I got a one hole balaclava, thing is now my lens fog up do I put it over the mask or under?

It goes under your gas mask. Try to breathe slowly and controlled with the mask on to avoid fogging. Also, if you don't care about using it as an actual protective mask, there is a piece of rubber INSIDE the mask on the left by your mouth (where the cartridge connects, but on the inside). It's a little round piece of rubber with a "spike" holding it in place. If you remove that, you'll be able to breathe much better.

you are a talented costume maker. even though you cant see his face and that makes hunk a semi easy character to cosplay, a lot of people messed up. but yours is good.
