Description Astrid Hofferson and Stromfly the Deadly Nadder from Dreamworks Dragons.

She's striking, tough, beautiful and her determined and strong personality makes her hard to impress. Astrid is 14 years old in How To Train Your Dragon, 15 in the series, and 20 in the sequel. She's Hiccup's main love interest in the first film, and his longtime girlfriend by the time of the sequel. In spite of initially not liking Hiccup or his new found friendship with Toothless, she soon has her opinion changed, tries to keep Toothless a secret, and starts to like Hiccup as her crush. Noteworthy, she is the only Viking without a helmet seen in the film (but is seen wearing one in the episode Fright of passenge when she's 5 years old) as well as in the 3 short sequels and episodes.

Astrid does not appear in any of the books in the original series and is an original character designed for the film. It is possible she is based on the character Camicazi from the books.

Stormfly is loyal and loving towards her rider Astrid. She also seems to be fond of Hiccup. However, while she is loyal to Astrid, this doesn't mean she can't be convinced to help someone else

Like all Deadly Nadders, Stormfly is a very beautiful dragon, and unfortunately, she knows it. She has a generous dose of vanity which is typical for her species. She is normally docile, but she can turn aggressive when she needs to. She also loves to play fetch and will chase after anything that is thrown, and bring it back again.

Stormfly is shown to have a strong bond with her rider, and is caring and protective of Astrid, though sometimes she's willing to connect with others.

Stormfly seems to be quite intelligent, as AstridΒ managed to teach her several hand signals.

Interesting/unique perspective here - Astrid's face and braid, especially. More realistic than people usually portray her.

It's nice that you simplified Stormfly's design because she was a brute to paint, and that they have a soft landing that doesn't involve roofs. Astrid looks completely confident in her Nadder, and they have a strong bond.

cheers. I know what you mean with those scales. So I thought as long as the shape is right, it would still look like stromfly no matter how much or how little detail is put on. As for Astrid, I'd be worried for her if they didn't have a strong bond after going into free fall.

Yeah; Heather's appearance and Stormfly's inability to rescue Astrid from Alvin twice made me question the bond between girl and dragon. It should never be doubted, however, because they make a strong team.
