So someone (he knows who he is) suggested I try out soft shading as opposed to my usual cel-shading. This is the end result of that experiment.I guess it's alright... never really did this kind of color/shading before. I'll have to play with it more to figure things out. It was definitely a learning experience for me - always good to try something new.
It was hard at first but as I got into it, I found I had a lot more freedom found the painting experience a bit less... stressful? I wasn't forced into making clean lines with shadows for the majority of the time which was nice. I almost always relied on the airbrush as it probably shows. If anyone else know of a better way, let me know!
As for the girl herself, her name is Ai. Ai is smiling for the "camera" as she enjoys a nice day at the ocean in her polka dot swimsuit and hoodie. Decided to make her proportions more real world normal

the shading and highlights are amazing, they give such a 3 dimensional effect! She kind of looks shiny too OAO the bikini looks awesome as well!

Thanks! I'm glad I tried something different with how I shade. I tried to make the image more on the cute side so the design of the bikini ended up as it did.

Wow, this is beautifully done! I really like the way you did the shading, that gives it such an incredibly three dimensional effect! The ruffles are a nice touch as well!
