Description

DC Comics Fan Art: from Weird War Tales the soldiers of Project M: The Creature Commandos.
Werewolf (Cpl. Griffith), Pvt. "Lucky" Taylor (Frankenstein's Monster), Doctor Myrra Rhodes (Gorgon) and Sgt. Vincent Velcro (Vampire )

Matthew hopped out of the jeep and grabbed his own duffel and slung it over his shoulder before the driver could get around to it. He returned the young man’s salute and sent him on his way. On the way over from the station, the Corporal had express unease about Lt. Shrieve’s destination. His nervousness foretold that there was something decidedly odd about the Southpines Abbey. Matthew recalled General Hastings' warning when he handed over his Orders, “I’m not doing you any favors, here Lieutenant.”

Well, it didn’t matter much, after slugging an Artillery Major for dropping shells on Matthew’s company, killing and maiming almost all of them, technically he was lucky not to be in Leavenworth.

Matthew reported to Captain Stephenson of the British Security Coordination. Captain Stephenson was brisk and to the point. Lt. Shrieve, on loan from the American Army, was placed in charge of an irregular commando unit. This unit of unusual skill sets would routinely be assigned to clandestine operations with limited support. The wayward Wyoming native wasn’t overly concerned. This assignment wasn’t a reward and he knew it.

Oh, and your unit is composed of monsters. Initially, Matthew figured he was being assigned to rejects, goldbrickers and a bad attitudes.

Nope. They were friggin’ monsters alright.
