It's certainly dramatic but you can command even more drama by making the shadows darker behind the hands on Akuma. The tones are too similar and you lose contrast. Contrasting tones really add depth and realism to an image.
Some of your black and white work uses shadow very successfully. Many of those works are utterly gripping in their dramatic presentation.
It's a powerful image, but it could be enhanced with some darker shadow.

Thanks for the input. The more I've looked at this picture the more I've wanted to change it, especially the shadows in the hair, mouth, and around the face. Maybe I'll go ahead and see if I can correct some things in PS.

In terms of tone, here's an example of what I mean.

In this image of the black queen the tones really contrast. The fire in the background is considerably brighter than the character in the foreground. The contrast of light to dark really adds impact.
Akuma has too many similar tones which make him too bright perhaps. Refer to your black and white work and relay that knowledge to this image. Your command of black and white is very strong.
