FINALLY! Finished this commission for wickedz of her absolutely gorgeous Queen Earth. She's standing in the looking pool of Hadrian's Villa. I'm still learning how to do backgrounds, and had to employ a big set of brushes for this, and I'm not sure I'm happy with the background, but at this point, I don't know that I could have pulled off completely hand-done landscapes. Maybe one day!Anyhow, please check out Anna's wonderful Queen Earth and her other amazing art.

Gabster, how amazing this is. I love the line and emotion detail you included. Bully for you to work on backgrounds - they are so intimidating and overwhelming, but I've always loved the detail backgrounds you've done. . even if they were stock, because they are well chosen and draw the eye to the main picture.

Wowza! See, this picture sums up what I love about you: your elegant, classic style, your fantastic eye for color, and your constant drive to push yourself. I love seeing pieces in which an artist has obviously put in extra sweat and time to pull off a new technique or trick. The background was a great choice for Queen Earth and suits her to a T. And that reflecting pool is just beautiful! Congrats on such a strong piece!

Thank you SO MUCH for commissioning me! Your work is what gave me the courage to actually try to get involved in the community, believe it or not, and I was SO HONORED when you commissioned me. This piece was a challenge, and I know I do it to myself, but thank you so much for giving me something to push myself. I learned a lot working on this piece, and I think its allowed me to try many MANY new techniques and ideas.
