"What if I am the selfish one. What if I'm just leading them on."

I made this little artpiece for the contest on TLKFA. The big boy's name is Kiota, and he is my version of the very first king of the Pride lands.

He was born in a small pride, as the son of the pride's leader, an old and wise lion who firmly believed in the respect of the circle of life and all cretures. Despite his white fur that set him apart from others, his pride welcomed him and loved him as much ad his 'normal' twin. Kiota's cubhood was a happy one.
However, one day, something happened that would change the cub's life forever. His father was killed by a much-younger male, and the pride was taken over. In most cases, this would mean cubs would die too, but Kiota's mother went against her instincts that told her to stay with the pride, and ran off with her sons in order to protect their life.

Asya was a young lioness, and her life never forced her to get used to living alone without a pride before. But she loved her sons, and couldn't bear the idea of them being killed just for the sake of her comfort, so she kept going. Hunting alone was harder then she originally thought, and many days she either overworked herself or went hungry so that they could eat - until the day she couldn't have it done it anymore. She died a young lioness, when her first sons only started growing their manes - her last wish was for them to find a land where they can be truly happy.

After that, Kiota's life only got harder - he was forced to hunt more than before when they just helping their mother. He tried his best but his white fur and kind heart made it hard, often irritating Chaka, his brother. Soon enough, his brother abandoned him, choosing to run off with a vulgar group consisting of young rogues who were exiled from their respective prides. This broke Kiota's heart, because he loved his younger brother more then anything.

Growing up he relied on kindness of other animals - however, every home he had was soon broken. Once a cheetah mother chose to give him some meat from her hunt everyday, only to be poached by hunters for her fur. He found her litter - she previously wouldn't allow him near them - but now, out of gratitude, he made a choice to raise them. They were weaned, thankfully, and by now he was a young adult, smart enough to find just enough food for his small new family. One day, he took down an old zebra (his father thought him to only hunt old and injured if possible as not to upset the balance) and went to feed his 'new little brothers' only to find them slaughtered by a hyena.
This made him lose his mind and becime animalistic. He abandonens his 'path of grace', chases off the hyena, and eats the remains in a fit of madness.

This phase goes on until he comes by a young abandoned hyena pup. Now a powerful and feared young lion, he pounces at it - but can't find it in him to kill the little one (but scars him, something he deeply regrets). This, and a dream where his father asks him what he has become, returns him to who he was before. He adopts the pup, and sets off to honor his mother's dying wish, as well as his father and every other animal that showed him kindness - find a land where every animal is respected and protected by certain rules. Several other animals choose to follow him after he proves himself worthy, but as each day goes by, he starts to doubt himself.

After many harships, he suceeds and manages to form kupatana in Pride lands. He is remambered as a great king, but in truth he was often dreamy and unrealistic. While other kings are considered to be stars, he is known as the lion in the moon, who awakens all others and watches over animals as they sleep.

I can't access DA with my computer so I gotta use my phone..
