Bashful Smurf dreams about meeting a girl fairy named Violet (voiced by Julie Kavner). In reality, he is too shy to talk to her and has a hard time asking her out. This is based on Charlie Brown’s attempts to go with the Little Red-Haired Girl from Charles M. Schulz’s comic strip, Peanuts.

Due to her slightly raspy voice and rough-and tumble attitude, she is athletic like Hefty Smurf and is willing to protect her friend from being made fun of by all the other Smurfs or on the verge of abuse by villains who despise Smurfs and fairies. Like Hefty Smurf, she is occasionally afraid of heights and can sometimes get easily irritated by Brainy Smurf’s constant nagging. She is not afraid to compete with Hefty Smurf on sporting events and they argue on who’s the strongest creature.
