I had been messing around with doing a model of 's Tetsuko for quite a while but I just couldn't get her how I wanted. I am very pleased with how she turned out.I did have to take one relatively significant liberty and change her hair a little. I know she never had her hair in a pony-tail nor is it curled, but after trying this particular hairstyle on my model, I really think it works. Hopefully Dave won't mind.

They're beautiful, both of them. Great render and not too dark either like a lot of 3D artwork I've seen. Her face is nice, not scary at all. Actually her face is very familiar, some actress in the back of my head. It'll come to me, probably at 3am, at least I hope so.

I had always thought Tetsuko was suppose to be more than "a head" taller than her previous height. Just my penny thought. More taller.
But other than that. The rendering was pretty good. But I agree, the previous should be a little more plain, like just a simple pony tail, no curls.

Well, this is probably the only place you will ever see a side-by-side comparison of her before and after, so I'll look into making her a little taller, but it probably won't make that much of a difference in the long run. I'm glad you like the pic though.

Great job with Tetsuko. Nice choice with the hair, I had difficulty trying to fight the right hairstyle for my version of Tetsuko. This is a hairstyle I could see Tetsuko actually wearing. Nice job with the face & body as well. I went with a bit more anime look for her face, your realistic look works perfectly.

I had originally fiddled around with doing an anime style because of the options available with Aiko 4, but decided I wanted to create a model with a very realistic face while still maintaining several of the Tetsuko/Tet-chan traits (heart shaped face, green eyes, thin eye-brows, and authoritative yet innocent look. I also tried to make her body as close to the body that Dave typically draws (except for slightly longer legs.)
Basically I wanted to see what Tetsuko would look like as a real person. I think, personally that I did a pretty good job. I am working on some other pics that will hopefully show off how closely she compares to Dave's pics.

Yeah, that darn rooster-tail forelock is practically impossible to duplicate accurately. C'est la vie!
