...here's another commissioned image, an invented character. I got requests from time to time and I want to give some tips how to make commissions easy.

- Would Your commissioned picture fit in the artists gallery? This is the most important aspect, because every artist has a comfort-zone, an own style and prefered motives.

- You already commissioned other artists and have a bunch of illustrations? Present them! When Your site has works from colleagues it'll make You more trustful and it shows You're experienced in working with artists.

- Pricing. There're artists who're good in business and there're artists like me. Private commissions are a lot cheaper than commercial work, so it should be fun for everyone. It's cool to give the artist space to develop his idea for Your motive-wish. He knows his strengths and weaks and how to arrange a nice picture for a nice price.

- some artists have tendence for self-exploitation - tips can help

- don't take it personal, when an illustration takes a while or others are done first. It can happen that a request flashs the artist so much that he want to do it right away. It's just about the motive, it's nothing personal.

- get Your own artist. When You hire the same artist again and again with fitting motives, then a nice relationship with a lot of benefits can happen!
