Hi, I wore this out today. I was stopped by tourists for photos/questions, honked at by cars, and discussed by many people I walked by. It's strange that dressing even the slightest bit different will turn heads, especially these days.

The strangest part is just how much anger it can cause lol. I like leaving a positive impression and the like, but the amount of hate it can garner is quite scary sometimes.

I love striped socks, but I agree- they're so hard to work into an outfit without looking cheap! xD I think they'd have looked even better as OTKs, but my stupid legs are so long they rarely go past my knees.

Hmm, they might maybe have, but I think your long legs really help pull off a look like this more elegantly (I'm very short so I'd just go into "cute" (Uhm, hope that doesn't sound conceited. Cute isn't always better =/)) and one my favourite parts about those socks was the little bows : 3
Prehaps a store like SockDreams.com might be able to help you out though, they just do sock-related things and I'm sure they have many girls who want socks which go higher but are too tall.

A few years ago, a group of my friends and I dressed up 'Goth' and went out to eat at Denny's for fun. It was amazing how differently we were treated, just because we put on dark clothes and makeup. People judge too much on appearances.

Aha you should organise days like that with your friends more often! My friends and I dress up in full piratey gear every September 17th, as well as get together for lolita meets, cosplay picnics, and other stuff. One day our city will be used to us and our oddities. ;D
