Description
Here are the nine Muses : Polyhymnia, Urania, Calliope, Thalia, Melpomene, Terpsichore, Euterpe, Erato and Clio.I followed the description given in "La Mythologie pour les nuls" (I don't suck in Ancient Greek Myths, as I study ancient greek at school, but this book is really interresting)
So here are their descriptions in French (sorry I'm too lazy to translate
Couronnée d'or.

I can translate their discriptions to English:
Polyhymnia: patroness of pantomime. The Muse of the art of writing and pantomime is crowned with pearls. Dressed in white, she is standing and leaning in a pensive mood.
Urania: Muse of astronomy. Crowned with stars and sky-blue dress. It is usually in his hand a celestial sphere.
Calliope: Muse of epic poetry. One of the wives of Apollo. Crowned with gold. She holds a stylus tablets.
Thalia: Luse of comedy. Crowned with ivy and shod in boots, she is holding a comic mask.
Melpomene: Muse of tragedy. Serious. Very nice, she's wearing gorgeous clothes. On her head a crown of ivy vine. Holds in his hand a tragic mask and a dagger in the other are scepters and crowns and delivering it to vaincqueurs.
Terpsichore: Muse of dance. Lively and cheerful girl, crowned with garlands and wearing a soft dress, walking slightly by playing the harp.
Euterpe: Muse of flute playing. She is surrounded by an oboe and flute. Sometimes she dances and sings the gods, to cheer their hearts.
Erato: patron of lyric poetry, especially love poetry. A crown of myrtle and roses. Its name comes from the word love. On the one hand she held a lyre, symbol of cosmic harmony.
Clio: Muse of History. Laurel wreath. She holds in her hand a trumpet, a harp or hourglass, symbol of the chronological order of events. She is standing or sitting on a pile of books.

great idea! I like Terpsicore and Thaila, but I think Calliope should be in the middle, wherwe Melpomene is, at least that's what I have read
