Thank you! When shooting birds, there a few things I do. 1. I always look at what direction the wind is coming from. Birds like airplanes, will always land into the wind. Sometimes the birds will spiral down until they are on a good glide slope to land into the nest. I love when they do this because you will get multiple chances at getting pictures as they come in. I watched these birds landing to feed their babies so I positioned myself to catch the back of the bird as it came into land. I did this because I love the pattern of feathers on the back of this type of bird. 2. I always use the center auto focus point. I never let the camera decide what to focus on. 3. I always shoot manual settings. I never trust the auto select, aperture priority, or shutter speed priority. I do some test shots to see what settings I need. On my camera I can save my settings, so I set one for dark birds and one for light birds. So I don't over or under expose the image. Hope this helps!!

Wow, amazing shot! How would you feel if your dad came at you like that with a stomach full of fish ready to be barfed into your gaping mouth?

Thank you! Yeah I have some pictures of that too of some egrets eating barf and it is gross! When anhingas feed their babies the babies bury their heads deep in their parents throats. I can't imagine how sore their throats are because the babies are so violent while feeding.
