It's fantastic.
Unfortunately I never got to see it in all its' glory... it's a big file and I'm runnning around like a blue arsed fly at the moment!
It reminded me of something that one might see on Astronomy pic of the day ~
[link] ~ most of those are images from the hubble space telegraph. I used to wonder how they determined the colours until I saw a program on the TV yesterday explaining that they take 3 spectographs in the red, blue, green range and combine them, then the computer redefines depth and bingo!
Did someone mention that you are making the script available?? I'd love to have that!

Interesting color choice. It has a warm feel to it.

The peice is pleasing to the eye. However, I just don't see it as a fractal. Don't fractals usually have mathematical properties that repeat themselves?
All honesty, it looks like some fancy Photoshop brushes over the curves of a woman.

It makes me think of a physics problem fooled by nature... Lightning swimming and reflecting under water. Well, at least I don't think that's possible by the laws of physics... but that's not really relevant anyway. This piece has got to be the most beautiful work of art I've seen in a while. And it's digital art, which normally doesn't impress me that much..... you've proven my normal judgements so totally wrong, and impressed me to no end.

the quality of what one suggests should be a DD has dropped dramatically over the last two years, this appears to be no more than a 2 minute apophysis render, with a slight hue change in photoshop, and a border to "finish" things off

If you have a problem with this being picked for a DD take it up with the admin who picked it as a DD rather than insulting the artist. You may not personally care for it but that does not entitle you to leave such a rude comment.

if this were your deviation i would listen to your comment, however it isnt, youre just flame-bating so i advise you to stop.
i commented and criticised this deviation, it happens, everybodies opinion is valid - you can't deny that the quality of dd's is getting lower and lower, this piece is just a 2 minutes apophysis render

That was not critique, that was a flame. You insulted it on the mere fact that it was selected as a DD, I'm the one who suggested this piece, if you think the quality of the DD's is getting lower then you suggest better, I for one enjoy looking at the DD's and remember that they are the staff picks, so they are what the staff likes not what the staff think is the pinacle of art rendering.
Also the amount of time has no bearing on how nice it is, I've seen better things done in 10 minutes with paper and pen than someone else may do in hours with a copy of photoshop.
I suggest if you want to critique, learn to do it properly. It's called constructive critique because it's supposed constructive, your's just amounted to: "Wah I don't like the fact this is a DD because I don't like it". Hardly constructive or helpful. Your opinion may be valid, however your opinion is rude and uncalled for in this case. In fact you're lucky you haven't been reported for flaming.
