I was on vacation this past week and was inspired. Started off as a Blender render and turned into a painting. (totally inspired by Barlowe)Is it an alien or superevolved walking squid? How does it see? Whats with the lights and is it covered in blood? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY what is its diet?

8 feet tall. You could outrun it in higher gravity, but it can totally beat you in micro.

Coool, it looks like a flea but with hands and tentacles and glowies! Like the rough painted texture too.

Looks very Expedition-ary! Except for those hands. Which freak me out. But I'm digging the segmented dorsal plates, the biolights, and especially the beautifully modelled orifices. (And "beautifully modelled" is not a description I generally bestow upon orifices.) I think it is a beachcomber, personally.

LOL. When I gave it hands I guessed it could be a sentient low gravity kind of critter. Or maybe a Jovian floater (gaseous swim bladder?)
Its funny that you dig its gills over its hands, must be some "uncanny valley" stuff going on there.

My god, that's amazing! It's awesome. Did you model it in blender FIRST? or was it an idea that you were GOING to model in blender?

It was a simple render from Blender. Pretty smooth (subsurfed 5 times!!). With some basic lights. Then I went into it in Painter and added more detail: colors and textures and those scale ridge things on its back.
