By now I'm sure we all know the basics of how Lust operates, but let's get into the specifics, and then of course, answer the question you've all been wondering about: what does it feel like??

[The following contains some spoilers for The New Girl 5 and TGP 5 , so proceed with caution]
Lust is something in between a Witch and a God. She's mentioned before that once she was a man, and that she progressed from man, to woman, to witch. What happened next is still unclear. We also know that Lucy Riley used her dying breath to bind Lust to a tube of black lipstick where she is still imprisoned today. (most likely) Of course, Lust is so incredibly powerful that she can still exert enough psychic energy from inside the lipstick tube, to attract non-magical beings, and convince them to put on the lipstick. The lipstick only needs a few seconds of contact with the skin for Lust's life-force and energy to transfer to the host body. Lust quickly takes control of the host, and transforms the host body into her own ideal form. Lust is above all, vain. She turns herself on, and at the end of the day, most of her actions are motivated by her favorite sin. Lust. Once Lust has taken a host, it is possible for her to use the lipstick on other hosts, thereby creating multiples of herself . Two Lusts can exist comfortably for a period of time, but three of more Lusts begin to experience significant depletion of their intellectual and magical faculties.

Lust can remain in a host for only a limited time. Not only does it take significant exertion of power on her part to remain outside of the lipstick, but the bodies of non-magical hosts will quickly begin to degrade, eventually experiencing total organ failure from over-exposure to live magic. (live magic differs from directed magic in that it is the constant magical presence within a body, rather than a short burst of magic experienced when a person has a spell or curse cast upon them) Lust does not kill her hosts, and tends to leave bodies before any significant harm comes to a host. It is also possible that Lust uses her last moments inside of a host to heal them. Lust can leave a host at any time, or can be forcibly removed from a host by having her lipstick wiped off.
Since Lust leaves her hosts alive and intact, there are quite a few testimonials to go from when it comes to exploring what it's like to be possessed by Lust. Most former hosts first describe an intense longing feeling, which begins roughly 1-3 hours before possession. The Host will spend this time desperately searching for the object of their longing, and will without fail discover the lipstick tube. (It is important to note that this attractive power is strongest on non-magical beings. Witches are barely affected) Upon discovery of the tube, Hosts sometimes attempt to fight the foreign desire to put on the lipstick. Resistance does not last long. Within ten seconds of the lipstick making contact with the skin, Hosts report a warmth spreading from their lips throughout their body, and then a soft numbness. Hosts are still capable of motor function at this time, and often describe stumbling numbly to the nearest mirror, and watching as the transformation begins. The transformation from host body to Lust takes roughly sixty seconds, and begins from the face, spreading steadily down the body. During this time, the clothes may in some cases be transformed, or in other cases (particularly when the host is female) Lust allows the clothes to become tight or tear as she claims the host body. During these sixty seconds, hosts report the first appearance of foreign thoughts. Throughout the possession, hosts are able to "hear" and experience Lust's thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, while still remaining separate and aware that they are passengers. Some former hosts describe this passenger-seat ride as incredibly pleasurable, while others recount a living nightmare. The longer Lust is in control, and as the host reaches the 24 hour threshold, some bodily pain will begin to manifest. This is the first sign of magic poisoning, due to Lust's impressive channeling ability. If Lust remains in the host for more than 48 hours, the pain will become incredible, at which point Lust is forced to vacate the host. Hosts report an immediate blackout when Lust leaves the body, and tend to wake up several hours later, free of pain, and having returned to their original form. No hosts remember changing back.
