Also apparently while in XY genes it is much more common (seems estimation is between 12-23% of the population), in XX genes it is still a Thing but like, less than 3% of the population iirc.

Yeah, but it’s not as extreme as it is here. A trichromatic would see a pair, maybe two pairs, as the same color placed side by side.

If anyone's wondering, tetrochromacy is "the condition of possessing four independent channels for conveying color information, or possessing four types of cone cell in the eye."

It seems fairly clear from context, especially if you know the Latin roots: "Tetra" is four, "Chroma" is color. Also, I guess it helps if you understand that the cones in question are only depicted as full of ice cream for humor purposes.

Answered by now but, "Chroma" is Greek for color. So "Tetrachroma" means "four colors".
