yes, yes they are but sorry to disapoint you but it is a zoo here in England. I do agree with you about not really liking zoos unless it is to preserve the wildlife and not to hold them captive for entertainment. This is a caring zoo and they do look after their animals, this was a new enclosure for the lions it wasnt insanly big but they didnt seem to be bothered
